Properly clipped cables in the ceiling space. Where cables can be accessed, it is mandatory that they are protected. This can be in the form of clipping to a structural material such as the timber frame.
What you should NEVER see – but sadly what is often found
These live cables were found within a wall. They were part of a power point circuit that was still in operation. Easily a fire or electrocution hazard.

This is one of the most horrible things I have come across. While working in this roof, I nearly stuck my hand on these live cables. They were part of a power point circuit. There was no safety switch on the house – I could easily have been killed and no-one would have known for hours. Why they were left like this is anyone’s guess – a horrific find.
Cables are supposed to be clipped and supported. When cables are in contact with soil and water, there is an increased likelihood of leakage current and therefor electric shocks.
This join is supposed to be enclosed in a junction box. The grey cable is incorrect for this type of use, and where the cables run over the top of the ant cap, there is an increased chance of damage to the cable sheath due to the sharp metal edge.
