Lights
Some light fittings I recently installed
Outside lights under a patio. Really nice outcome for my client. I made custom mounting blocks with a router for the lights on the left hand side. They matched the shape of the bracket exactly so they couldn’t be seen.
Coach lights on a pergola, matching the patio lights. These are mounted on custom mounting blocks that match the timber frame, but allowed conduit to enter the fitting. I was unwilling to drill through the post as it would have weekend the frame of the pergola..
Strip lights installed under the pergola, along with a fan. There is a matching strip light on the opposite side of the pergola as well. The strip lights are controlled by a remote control with a dimming function. So is the fan.
Some LED light fittings installed in a unit. The patterned rim provided a lovely sparkle and just inside this was a small gold rim. Exactly what the client had been looking for.
Bathroom mirror light. 18W LED.
Newly installed external coach lights. Installed with LED globes.
Bad light fitting wiring recently seen
If looks could kill – This light fitting certainly could. The person who installed it didn’t connect the earth cable. Not a good idea when it has a metal chassis.
Poorly connected cables. While solder can be used for joins, this cannot be pushed back into the ceiling space. It must be double insulated in some way. This sort of tape is NOT acceptable as insulation.
The unswitched active is connected to the chassis. Literally a lethal connection – The metal of this chassis is live and could kill anyone who touches it.
